PRE-PRESS
Advanced Pre-Press – Precision Plate-Making for Perfect Print Results
Pre-press is the critical bridge between creative files and the printing press. Every error caught at this stage saves significant time and cost downstream. Our pre-press department is equipped with a Kodak Computer-to-Plate (CTP) system and managed by experienced technicians who verify every file against strict print standards before a single plate is made.

Our Pre-Press Capabilities
Kodak CTP Plate Making
Our Kodak Computer-to-Plate system exposes plates directly from digital files at high resolution — eliminating film, reducing chemical usage, and delivering sharper dot reproduction and tighter registration than traditional film-based platemaking.
File Preflight & Verification
Every incoming file is preflighted against a strict checklist: CMYK colour mode, minimum 300 DPI images, 3mm bleed, embedded fonts, and correct page dimensions. Issues are flagged and resolved before plates are made — avoiding costly reprints.
Imposition Planning
Our team plans the imposition — how pages are arranged on the press sheet — to optimise paper usage, minimise waste, and ensure correct page sequence after folding and binding. We handle simplex, work-and-turn, and sheetwise impositions.
Colour Proofing & Correction
Colour proofs are produced before plates are finalised, allowing clients to approve colour accuracy against their originals. Our team corrects any colour deviation using calibrated ICC profiles matched to our press profiles.
High-Resolution Scanning
Original artwork, photographs, and transparencies are scanned at up to 1200 DPI on our flatbed scanners, colour-corrected, and converted to CMYK for accurate reproduction on press.
Film-Free, Chemical-Free Workflow
Our CTP workflow is entirely film-free. This eliminates photographic chemicals from the pre-press process, improving both environmental impact and turnaround time — plates are ready for press within hours of file approval.
Pre-Press Workflow – Step by Step
A disciplined, sequenced pre-press workflow ensures every press sheet is printed correctly the first time.
File Receipt & Preflight
Incoming files are received, named, and preflighted using automated preflight tools. Any issues are communicated to the client for correction before proceeding.
Imposition & Trapping
Pages are imposed in the correct press sheet layout. Trapping is applied to prevent white gaps at colour boundaries caused by press misregistration.
Colour Proof & Approval
A colour proof is produced for client approval. Any colour corrections, text edits, or layout changes are made at this stage before plates are committed.
CTP Plate Output
Once approved, the Kodak CTP unit exposes aluminium printing plates at 2400 DPI. Plates are processed, inspected under a loupe for dot quality, and dispatched to the press room.
